Penny Stanley - BACP registered Psychotherapist
After graduating from London University I trained as a nurse and worked in London, Devon and Sydney, specialising in Oncology and Palliative Care. It was while working as a Macmillan nurse in London that I became interested in training as a counsellor and therapist. I trained as an adult therapist initially and worked privately from home and at Kingston University in the student counselling service. Later, after taking a break to raise children, I re-trained to work with children and adolescents.
I have worked in primary and secondary schools and for the last 7 years have worked for Place2Be both as a therapist and School Project Manager establishing and running a project within a large, diverse primary school in London.
I now run a private practice from my home in Kew seeing young children, adolescents and adults. This work is available face-to-face in my room in Kew, or online if suitable.
I also offer supervision for Child and Adolescent counsellors and Play Therapists working privately or in schools.
Finally I am a Volunteer Crisis Counsellor for the Crisis Text line Shout.
